Here are a couple of photos of my dress that i made for our 're-invent' oxfam boutique project. They are currently being sold in the oxfam boutique in Bath...my dress is being sold for £150 which seems like a lot! but its going to charity and was hand made and designed so hopefully people will understand that...half of me is tempted to buy it just so that i have it to reflect on when i finish uni, but i cant really afford it and it will be interesting to see if someone will buy it and wear it! Its a very simple dress, but quite affective with its colour and shape. The collection is called 'Desert Cocktails' and was inspired by the desert, shapes colours etc. and then cocktails, which often go along as being refreshing with hot dry climates, so i have incorporated these colours and shapes into other designs of the collection.

More to add to my 'Styling Record'

After too long, here are a few more photos that i have taken of outfits that i particularly like. Here i am wearing a long vintage maxi dress that i bought from my favourite vintage shop in canada. I am wearing it with some of my Granny's old shoes that i acquired when she passed away and love. Over the top i am wearing a little knitted see-through ish jumper which was also from a lovely vintage/second hand shop in canada.

The problem with me is that i have a lot of jewellery but i never get round to wearing it, so sometimes when i really have time to think about what I'm wearing i try and combine it all and enjoy wearing it. Here is a random selection of bracelets and one of my favourite rings....with a pair of trousers that i got on sale from top shop...surprisingly my first real pair of really skinny jeans, i always thought that my body wasn't the right shape for them, but i have decided that it doesn't really matter!
In this photo i have incorporated my whicker chest that my granny made with my makeup, photo and wooden sculpture (that my dad made), into the picture as i just thought it looked nice, and i like seeing if and how you can compare people's personal surroundings with the way they dress/present themselves and see if they have a similar feel.
Here i am wearing a bright pink flowery dress that my mum bought me and over it i am wearing a denim skirt (and you can see in the photo below this one how it sticks out the end of the skirt...the reason why i decided to do this was that i really like the dress but its HUGE! its very baggy and i really like the top of it, but felt like it was a bit of a nighty without anything to slightly change it on the bottom half. (now i actually really like it without anything else, but at first i felt differently) Anyway so with it i am wearing my converses, pearls, and leopard print
cardie (also from my lovely Granny). Here, without the tights and anything on top.

Earlier this year, I decided that it would be a good idea to start a style blog...There is a part of me that would like to become a stylist, and i thought it would be a good idea to start taking pictures of outfits that i (or anyone) wear and like. I think its a good idea so i can keep a record - to see how maybe my style has changed, or to get a rounded image of what my style is like...something like that! Anyway i will do my best to put one up everyday if i can! here is the first one! xxx

A few Photoshoots!

Here are a few photos that i have done with a photographer called Andrew Davis, a good photographer based in bath!

Oxfam exhibition in Southgate Centre

Here are a few photos of the new Southgate Centre exhibition in Bath. They are exhibiting one of the projects that we did towards the end of our second year, where we collaborated with the new Oxfam boutique and had to make new garments out of old clothes. The new garments are to be sold in the oxfam boutique. The two first outfits are mine, the dress with the blue top half and then the peach trousers with the little crop top.

Philosophy Clothing

Here are four sets of illustrations that i did for one of our projects this year, i have used a mixture of illustrator, photoshop and hand drawing. Each set of illustrations is representing a different design theme, starting from the top, 'Glorious Gangsters' (funny i know), 'Lightly Shining,' 'Melting Images,' and 'Perfume Pollen!'

Drape Dress Project

Here is a front and back view of my drape dress project that i called "Movement in Architecture." The bottom half of the dress is made up of hand woven panels. I took inspiration from totem poles and Cappadocia structures in Turkey...using Beth again! xxx

Here are a couple of images that i
took and found inspiring for my
drape project.

This was a photoshoot i did in my room for one of my projects this year, we had to design and make a draped bodice. I looked at traditional drape, and also at the way nature can drape (trees and branches) My lovely model used here is Bethy boo! xxxx
Here i used my wardrobe as a prop

Introduction to Blog intent

I intend to use this blog page i think for expressing my ideas (much like everyone else) and posting things that i find of interest, maybe bits of my work, images, music, etc in the hope that people might comment and share their opinion if they want to! I'm not really sure yet, i find this whole blog thing a bit weird, it sometimes seems like just another way for people to create an alter-ego for themselves and hide from who the really are (which is fine but not for me and i know its not all about that!) ...anyway we will see if i actually keep up with it, i think its a good way of recording everything....toodallooo!
